Tim Bush

Born in Raleigh NC, I have been a Carolinian all my life. I moved to Wilmington in 1989 and graduated from UNCW with a degree in Criminal Justice. For the next decade, I worked with an innovative nonprofit that supported people with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible in the Wilmington community. As a Team Leader and Supervisor, I assisted in finding adequate housing and ensured that all federal and state guidelines were met for each individual's home and care.

I bought my first investment property (a townhome) soon after graduation. Then - after meeting my wife - we decided to buy undeveloped property out in Brunswick County in 2001 and have since turned it into a homestead for our three young children and chocolate lab. Surrounded by Venus Fly Traps on a dirt road, we grow blueberries, raise bees, garden, trail blaze through the woods, and work in our home art studio.

Still an avid surfer, I frequent all the eastern Carolina beaches but am particularly partial to Oak Island where we invested in a family beach home. The beach house has a rotating door of guests in and out throughout the year - giving me significant experience as a local property manager.

I feel that one of the reasons that the Cape Fear area is such an amazing place is because people come here on purpose. People choose to move to Wilmington and surrounding towns like Leland, Hampstead, Southport and Oak Island - they want to live here.
