Relocation: Currently a resident of North Carolina since 1994, we previously lived in the Philadelphia, PA area. My husband and I were searching for a better “quality of life” that didn’t include a 2-3 hour commute from work in the winter which is what originally drew us to Southeastern NC and ultimately to Brunswick County. We decided that if “we’re going to make this move, let’s go to the coast and be near the ocean.”
Commitment: Married to my high school sweetheart, Joe (since 1973), and the mother of 4 amazing children, 2 of which remain in the Philadelphia area, 1 in Denver, CO and 1 in Southport. In addition to our already large family, we have been graced with 3 beautiful grandchildren. Joe and I are certainly enjoying this new chapter in our lives in the role as grandparents.
Involvement: Moving to Brunswick County changed every aspect of our lives. One of the biggest life changing experiences was learning to sail in 1998. Not long afterwards we bought our first boat and soon after that helped to found the Southport Sailing & Boat Club, now one of the area’s premier boating/social clubs. Now an avid sailor, I have a real passion for the natural beauty and surroundings of Brunswick County and am always happy to share with others the amazing “quality of life” that living here offers.
